Facial Lines (Botox®)

Botox® treatments are growing in popularity in Scotland and the U.K. By using facial muscles repeatedly throughout a lifetime the skin becomes creased in areas of greatest use causing lines and wrinkles. When Botox® is injected into the wrinkles the muscles become more relaxed in the injected area. By reducing the movement of the muscles in these areas the skin stops being creased and is able to recover causing the lines to soften or even fade away.

Botox® treatments are very safe and have been in use therapeutically for many years. Typically no anaesthesia is required and an ultra thin needle delivers a very small dose of Botox. This disrupts the signals to the muscles allowing them to relax permitting the wrinkles to smooth out.

Effects become noticable in 2 to 14 days and can last from 3 to 6 months. Repeated treatments provides for more prolonged results ultimately extending the time between injections.
