Restylane®

Key to our general sense of wellbeing is the health and appearance of our skin. And key to this is a substance called Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid keeps our skin firm, supple and looking healthy.

Restylane® is a dermal filler which has been developed in Sweden. It is a natural biodegradable material which combats the thinning of the natural collagen layer that supports our skin. As we age collagen production slows and this layer begins to break down allowing the skin to sag and wrinkle.

Restylane® is essentially a thick transparent gel derived from non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid makes up approximately 20% of the skin and is a vital structural component. It plays a key role in hydrating the skin by adding volume thereby returning skin contour.

Treatment:

Restylane® is injected into the problem area using a thin needle. Treatment takes from 10 to 40 minutes depending on the area treated and can often be administered without local anaesthesia, a topical anaesthetic gel used instead. The results are immediate and often a follow up appointment 2 to 4 weeks later will be recommended for a review or top-up. Thereafter results can last from 6 months to a year. Facial wrinkles can be treated very effectively and lip volume can be restored using various Restylane® products.

Our professionals also offer Restylane® Vital which when introduced into the skin creates a fresh natural and more youthful appearance by gently replenishing Hyaluronic Acid. It can be used in all skin areas that ‘give away’ age including face, neck, décolletage and backs of hands and can be used to complement other Restylane® treatments

Unlike many skin rejuvenation treatments available Restylane® is derived entirely from a non-animal source and needs no extra additives. As a result it is a safe and natural treatment helping to restore a more youthful reinvigorated appearance.
